Nose: Takes time to unfold, but your patience will be rewarded. Lots of personality shining through a slight shyness. Just a great nose, but unusually hard to pin down. Nothing flashy in there. Just a discreet and great deepness, mostly made of stewed dark fruits and lots of organics.
Mouth: Very consistent with the nose. Starts smoothly. Sherry tones grow bigger, along with a nice coastalness (or is it a nice coastality?). Chinese salted plums. Slightly salted. And a pinch of high end caramel. Everything in there is very delicate with a great balance. You could drink liters of this.
Finish: Salty and fruity.
Comment: This whisky is an oxymoron. Shy but deep, discreet but rich… I’ve hardly ever liked a malt that much while being so embarrassed to write some decent notes about it. An unexpected high end Bunnah?

Nose: Very closed to start, unclear sulfur touchesand boiled vegetables (not pejorative). Aeration, frank notes walnut wine and spicy emerge. Touches of red fruits, almonds and wood. The second nose is more on spices.

Palate: The palate is spicy, powerful but controlled. The mid palate is surprisingly salty.

Finale: Average woody notes and saline.

Comments: I would say that it seems to have whiskey aged in sherry casks from aromatic markers, undiluted (or very little) with a mean age. Maybe a refill sherry Highland of an elderly maximum of fifteen years? The lack of complexity and complexity prevents me to love even if I do not hate either. The nose is spicy at first and discreet, is on dry sherry. It has raisins, almonds and hazelnuts. Over time, it also reveals some chocolate tips and cereals, but all sorely lacking of expressiveness. Adding water makes a much better integration.

The palate confirms the nose: it is a dry sherry alcohol relatively poorly integrated. There are chocolate, nuts and some raisins. Again, the addition of water softens the whole, which however remains of low complexity.

The final, soft and medium length, is on milk chocolate with some farm notes, much more present after addition of water.

In conclusion, a whiskey with well integrated alcohol and very expressive. Probably sherry lovers will find in it other qualities than I did.

The first nose is very pleasant coffee, sherry, light tannic oak. Aeration enhances pleasure: orange peel, hazelnut, toasted almond, light smoky, mineral accurate but fleeting. Quite shy at the beginning but the alcohol is well integrated that's something!
I seem to recognize the smell of gingerbread, it seems pretty dry as profile (refill sherry maybe?).
With aeration was a little fruit with orange and ginger spring but this is too good for my taste!

palate:
Fresh attack on orange and lovely on the palate, it is much more dense than in the nose!
Unfortunately it soon becomes woody (spices detected on the nose are present) and liquorice bitterness of the final fails to really balance it out ...
The addition of water (not recommended) gum all the details and only the bitterness and astringency of the final comes out!

Conclusion:
A dram too closed or too simple and a too strong woody side.

Comment: Its nose offered the promise of an elegant sherry monster but its mouth was not expressive enough and too austere to make it a champion of its category in my view.

Nose: Rich and candied. Both jammy and vibrant, but always fruity. A nice mix between the softness of stewed fruits (cooked strawberries) and the vibrancy of summer ones (nectarine). And oranges too.
