Colour: Old gold.
The nose presents some fruity character with a kind of freshness, but unlike its twin, this freshness is not dominating at the first nosing. this version seems to be more floral, with some honey notes added to the fruit.
The mouth develops quickly from a kind of start freshness on the same woody notes as its twin, but some metallic hints come in addition, making is a little bit less attractive to my palate. It keeps however the same pleasant character with touches of chocolate, even if those are less obvious than in the other cask.
Finish is long, even if a bit less present than the twin was. Here too the palate notes remain nicely present.
Due to the particular nature of those "micro provenance" bottlings, this one has not been blind tasted, but immediately after its twin bottle to understand the difference between both, which are part of the same batch, but have been stored in different places in the warehouses. This parallel tasting is very interesting when it comes to understand the influence of maturing on a whisky final result.
