The nose is more complex than it appears at first contact. At first it seems quite marked by yeast (a smell that I appreciate very much). After a few moments slightly woody notes and smoke appear. A hint of hay and a distant reminiscence of peat.
On the palate lovely notes of cocoa and a tingling sensation caused by alcohol. A beautiful warmth evenly. The chocolate seems to dominate and a few discreet notes of peat are emerging on the end.
The first thing that appears in the final is the contrast with the mouth. Some peaty bitterness quickly takes over, whereas this element was rather quiet in the mouth.
When I saw tthe bottle, I was quite surprised. I expected to have a much more peaty effect with a Caol Ila . ..
