Quite a farmy nose, mix of malt and wet hay , undergrowth smells and a touch of peat. Some meat hints? Salt, iodine, sea spray.
The mouth is somewhere between malt and walnut, wit nice developments from the one to the other one. Nice complexity. Mix of sea and spices, but not fruit in this one. Pleasantly different... for those who know the Bruichladdich range.
The finish is lingering and marked by both hints of peat and of slightly bitter unripe walnut and the sea remains present...
A nice surprise, this first distillation of the new owners of the distillery. New... from 2000!
