Pleasant peat and smoke (barbecue) notes appear at the first nosing. Behind this first impression, touches of sea spray, but no real complexity.
In the palate, peat and smoke dominate too. No trace of this violet hints which made the (bad) reputation of the distillery for many years. This obviously young whisky is very clean. It deserves no negative critic, even if it does not deserve an award neither. A good product, and a good quality/price ratio.
Quite a short finish and only a light memory of smoke seems to survive.
