Colour: Old gold.
Fantastic nose marked by very nice coffee and chocolate notes, sherry, peat and fruit. An exceptional complexity and lots of happiness. I just hope the mouth and finish will be as good as this nose.
An excellent first impression from the very first contact. A sea of notes between malt and chocolate and peat. Although the very first contact was a bit rough and the mouth is not too complex, this dram is very close to perfection. Nothing but pleasure. It is continuously developing between coffee and chocolate hints, the texture of this whisky is very pleasant. In other words... a marvellous whisky.
An extraordinary lingering finish, pleasant and warm. Still on the same chocolate register as the mouth was. Perfectly balanced, this finish prolongs the happiness of the preceding steps in the tasting.
