Quite a discrete and fresh nose where smoke and peat are largely present. Some animal hints and notes of wet hay.
In the very first mouth, nothing... but after a while a kind of burning sensation in the throat (and curiously not on the tongue). It is the moment smoke and peat hints decided to appear. No complexity and no refinement, the youth of this whisky is obvious. On the other hand, no trace of violet, like Bowmore used us to find in their whiskies at the end of last century.
Finish is marked by peat hints too. It is rather long and not unpleasant.
Even if it is not extraordinary, this little whisky is pleasant (specially if one considers its price). I drunk worse things for more money.
