Colour: Pale, fine golden
Nose: Soft peat smoke combined with cane sugar, caramel and a well marked maltiness, very young and not boring at all. Later there are whalenuts and soft hints of almonds and wet hay. A whiff from the countryside. There seems to be more alcohol in the nose than the 40% may suggest. A strong and promising nose.
Taste: Very balanced between the soft peat and sugar. A very fulfilling and chewy mouthfeel. There are nice cedarwood notes and herbal bitterroot notes always backed by sugary maltiness.
Finish: This seems the problem to me, very short after the first and very impressing entrance the nice mouthfeel gives way to some kind of bitterness which is very pleasant (extra dry) to me but leaves a surprising flat and medium short impression. On the very end I notice some funny metallic copper notes.
Conc.: This is the perfect every day dram to me and a great aperetif. Perhaps one should try an older bottling to gain a deeper complexity.

A nice nose, with hints of malted barley and a light touch of peat mixed with some acid notes followed by a touch of cocoa.
In the palate, it is rather flat and gives a watery impression. No complexity but a pleasant sensation of a well balanced and flawless malt.
The finish is relatively short and doesn't leave an unforgettable impression. Nice barley hints however.

The nose reveals mainly malted hints with touches of peat.
In the palate, some hints of vanilla mixed to walnut touches on a malty background. The finish, rather long, recalls the bitter taste of unripe walnut, mixed to smoother cereal notes.

Jean-Marie Putz

A rather discrete nose, where malt and peat are mixed, before some hay hints appear after aeration.
In the palate, a certain lack at power first denies the hopes the nose rose; dominated by malt and after a while light touches of citrus fruit come and bright the feeling up.
A very long finish, recalling vanilla. A very pleasant bottle.
