A second tasting just confirms the first one. A great sweetness, a great malt.
2005A clear nose marked by nice fresh and fruity notes (unripe plum jam), touches of yeast and of peat, hidden behind a light veil of smoke.
In the palate an unusual mix of bitterness and acidity with fruity notes (again this jam of unripe acid plum), peat (but very discrete), the whole being dominated by the acid character noticed earlier.
Quite a short finish with still the same impressions, both pleasant and strange of acid fruit and some remote peaty hints.
2008The nose is very rich, and smells of peat and smoke mix with other very pleasant and fruity fragrances, between peach and orange, but without any acidity with however a slightly spicy touch. In the palate, a pleasant sweetness where peat and smoke are mixed with malt and some discrete fruity hints. The finish is sweet and slightly spicy.
2005The nose reveals subtle hints of peat and smoke. The very pleasant and complex, but sweet taste confirms the peat and smoke touches of the nose, with some sweet fruit hints. A long and pleasant finish hesitating between sweet spices and malt, which is dominating after a few minutes.
