Colour: Red golden copper, rosé wine. Non coloured, non chill filtered as usual at Springbank’s.
Nose: Soft Smoke surrounded by fresh sour fruits (green apple) and coffee with soft hints od vanilla. Later there are some tropical spices (cinnamon, pepper and burnt cane sugar)
Taste: The alcohol having a strong entrance at first, the peat smoke takes a good step forward. With a good shot of water there is whole new picture: Still full smoke with fruits, nuts, leather coffee and the brown sugar. Very peaty, complex and nevertheless easygoing, very nice hints of wine acid (tannins). All is backed by delicious bitter wooden oak notes which lead into a long and fine
Finish: Long and lingering, a pleasant mix of the mild sour tannins and bitterroot.
Conc.: A great Longrow seemed to enjoy its time in the wine cask
