Colour: Straw
The nose is clearly marked by peat and it is hard to find something else. Initially very expressive, with a slight tingling due to alcohol, the intensity seems to fall rapidly and odors fade.
On the palate, this whisky is a much more enjoyable than on the nose. Peat is greasy and generous. Far more complex than the nose, although dominated throughout by a ubiquitous peat. Slight citrus spikes reach their way but this is fairly marginal.
The finish is long and hot, and here too, the peat is present.
For lovers of peat, this whisky is just perfect. For others, well ... uh ...
