Colour: Old gold This tasting, like that of the other candidate Witch 2012 (Allt a Bhaine) was not done blindly, and the alcohol content of this whisky is even higher. The same consideration is applicable here, too: we must wait a little before dipping the nose in there. Aeration is essential ...

The nose is complex, mixing very fine nutty, malt and sherry notes. Hints of marshmallow. The nose is subtle and pleasantly complex. If the mouth is at the height, we have here is an excellent whisky.
On the palate the first impression is quite surprising. Tastes go all over the place before moving on to more balance. Notes of pear brandy, betraying the youth of the whisky and simultaneously beautiful notes of nuts and sherry, fairly strong contrast with the slight impression of new make. Then, the mouth is moving towards slightly woody tastes. If traces of youth , even subtle,r emain no discomfort at all caused by alcohol. I do not drink whisky a percentage of alcohol at 67% often, and I expected intense burns, but it is not. Body and character, yes ...
The finish is long and powerful. While remaining balanced and extremely enjoyable. Here is a very young whisky but a really surprising one.
