Jean-Marie Putz

A distillery which is not well known out of the blender world. This Signatory edition lets single malt lovers discover a very nice whisky.

The second tasting revealed a rich nose, with complex fragrances bases on malt with slightly acid hints and sweet spices. The taste in the palate is first complex, pleasant and develops rapidly on malt. A too short finish achieves the whole.

The rather fresh nose reveals malt with some slightly acid (citrus fruit) hints, on a fruity background.
In the palate, the taste develops on ripe fruit notes (pear) with some smoke and citrus touches on the background where malt remains present as well.
A very nice woody finish, quite long.

The nose is marked by yeast with some light hints of peat and smoke. Traces of citrus fruit as well.
In the palate, a pleasant sensation where a bit of peat meets some hints of citrus fruit and some touches of malted barley. Nothing very special indeed.
The finish is rather short and keeps the memory of malt.
