Quite an unusual discrete nose for a Caol Ila. A distant peat and some fruity notes complemented by pepper and spices. The nose is surprisingly fresh ...
On the palate, peat is more prevalent, subtle and balanced. I am not used to such a subtlety with Caol Ila. Tje more the whisky remains in the mouth, the more it reveals its charms. A perfect balance, always in the framework of discretion and without complexity, but this whisky gives great pleasure.
The finish is long and warm. Mainly dominated by notes of chocolate milk, it prolongs perfectly the mouth. It also contrasts so much with the nose was extremely discreet.
