Nice nose, pleasantly spicy with nice fruity notes that appear quickly, first behind a kind of slightly bitter veil, (like gentian ?). A very nice evolution and a complex freshness announcing a great and full of character whisky.
The first attack in the mouth is relatively disappointing, given expectations that the nose has raised. An aqueous impressoin ... the whisky would have been much better if bottled as a cask strength. The peppery and fruity aspect that was so nice during nosing is found in the mouth too, but with much less intensity. Some acidity seems to float in the palate which is unfortunately affected .
The final marked contrast to the mouth by its intensity and exceptional length. This final helps to forgive the weaknesses of the mouth.
