Colour: White Wine, Riesling (Colour added).
Nose: Fresh peat together with citrus fruits. Very enjoyable and easy notes of leather polish and sea driftwood on the beach.
Taste: The peat takes a very good step foward. Strong but not overwhelming. Still this beautiful mix of sea air, grapefruits and suede leather in the back. Not as easy as the nose, but very delicate and enjoyable.
Finish: Prickly and very well peppered, still mingling between fruits and smoke.
Conclusion: It’s this beautiful easiness together with nifty peatsmoke which separates most Caol Ilas from other Islay whiskies.
