Colour: Bright golden, shining, polished brass (no colour).
Nose: Grated ginger (surprisingly clear) combined with honey and a nice note of rotten apples. Later there is also freshly prepared porridge with cream and brown sugar, the way I like it for breakfast...
Taste: Sweet, full and round but young and fresh in the beginning, the trendy >43% prove their worth. Alas, no ginger here but very nice floral notes. With water still mighty and powerful but in my book I miss a hint of smoke or bitterness and complexity. Nice notes of nuts and grass anyway.
Finish: Nice, easy and friendly like the whole dram but not long and a little bit harmless.
Conclusion: A fresh and very enjoyable nose but in the whole picture there is little meaning. Very pleasant and enjoyable anyway.
Date: 12. May 2011
