Apperance: Bright yellow Gold
Nose: Appeticing scent with a light, vanilla oakiness. Some malty sweetness there as well with very light fruity esters, heather flowers and some ladies perfume. Lemon zest, akacia honey and a very light moldy wiff are revealed in the diluted nose. Round and fresh overall.
Body: Relatively light, but firm
Palate: Starts out quite light but with good balance. Predominantly cereal, malty hints. An attractive winey, cereal and woody mix is somewhat spoiled by a sensation of something spilled. Even unreduced, this dram feels a little watered down. Having said that, the finish is long and smooth and has some nice mown hay and white oak / vanilla notes. A pleasant aperitif and a very nice whisky, but lacking Macallans typical weightiness.
