Jean-Marie Putz

Colour: Old gold
The nose is pleasant from the very first. Not overly complex but it plays more on the register of subtlety. It takes a while to give its full potential. Notes fairly close to each other, roasted malt, cocoa and hints of dried fruit. Some spices also.
A first impression in the mouth which contrasts with that announced by the nose. The palate is more complex, and here the sherry takes over, in conjunction with the notes of cocoa which already marked the nose. A slight woody bitterness scraping nothing from the fun but increasing a little in complexity.
Alcohol is perfectly controlled.
The finish is very long, and is shared between sherry and oak that marked the mouth.
An excellent bottle.
