Colour: Brass.
Nose: Very fresh and easy with delicate citrus fruits. Grapefruit marmalade. Fine wooden notes, the peat is in my impression more the direction of Campbeltown than Islay whiskies, more in a woody or floral than a smoky way. A very fine and subtle salty sea weed breeze to round the picture.
Taste: Peppery, more peaty and chemical than the nose suggests. The nice floral and fruity notes are a little pushed back by the now more dominant peat but they can easily be put back in place with some drops of water.
Finish: Very round and firm and lasting a good, long and pleasureful while. Now the chemical impression mingles most beautifull with a pinch of brown sugar, black pepper, bitterroot and the clear traces of seaweed. A fine and very varied and still balanced finish.
Conc.: The nose and the taste make a fine whisky. But this finish makes it a magnificent dram.
