Colour: Old gold
The nose is quite aggressive and tingling probably due to alcohol are quite annoying. A mixture of unobtrusive peat and acid notes characterized that nose. Fortunately tingling disappeared after several minutes of aeration.
After a first impression in the perfect extension of the nose, things are improving in the mouth. A nice complexity surfaced and peat, strangely discrete at the nose, appear with just enough chocolate and bitterness and mingle with acid hints . The taste is more pleasant than was the nose, but we are not dealing here with a very great whisky.
The finish is relatively short and the pleasure of the mouth does not extend very long.
This tasting was not done blind.
