The colour is intense gold. The nose, rather peaty, reveals a pleasant sea freshness. It goes on on fruits, spices and malted barley on a background of floral hints.
The palate confirms the nose and is slightly peaty.
The finish is dryer and is also marked by smoked barley and some salted hints.

Personal Comment
What a wonderful whiwky!!. This is one of my best surprises. Being a lover of Islay whiskies, the malt from Northern Highlands really estonished me. A perfect balance between peat and rare spices malt. This great successor of the dead Brora distillery is far most one of the best whiskies I ever tasted. Its quality-price ratio is very good. I really recommand it. A must for each good whisky collection.
88/100
A delightful spicy and perfumed nose, with some floral and malty hints, the whole beeing very fresh and rather complex. A great complexity in the palate as well, whit some slight citrus hints, on a honey background with peat ant delicious spices. A finish developing on honey hints, than some more bitter and salted touches. A very nice whisky.
88/100
During the third tasting, the nose was still as delicate and perfumed, with its spicy and floral notes. In the palate, the slightly acid citrus hints seemed to be stronger than the first times, and the spicy notes are still present. A rather long and pleasant finish.
84/100
The nose is between spices and some iodized and slightly smokey hints. In the palate, an interesting contrast between citrus fruits and dry peat. A nice complexity, however less nice than in my memory of preceding tastings. The finish is long and salty, slightly acid.
84/100
Quite a nice nose although rather discrete. Hints of Marshmallow behind nice floral notes. Ripe fruit too. Hints of smoke and nice presence of spices. This whisky is not frankly expressive at the first nosing, but it's just subtlety. Very promising nose anyway.
The palate is immediately pleasant mixing nice sweet hints with slightly acid hints, but sill very subtle and nuanced. A fruity taste anyway.
The finish perfectly prolongs the mouth, with its sweetness and refinement on one hand and on the other hand nice spicy and salty contrasts.
84/100
Date of tasting: 12/11 2007 Apperance: old gold, clear amber Nose: Solvent nose with bubble gums and acid drops, some scorched plastic and fruity hints -mainly pears, green apples and some citric notes, slight development of smoke and lots of prickle in the straight nose. The reduced nose lends lots of fresh, sweetish fumes and suddenly this is a very complex dram. It's a pleasant balance between fruits, cereals and some floral and peaty hints lingering in the background. Body: Medium, but very tight Palate: The start is bland and suppressed in reduced dram, the middle is delayed. Then comes a bang of flavours in the back of the tounge and the finish is quite long. The straight dram is much more intense with a dry beginning and a long finish which shifts from honey an! d woody to spicy to teasingly prickly. I prefer to nose this diluted and drink it straight.

The nose is quite discrete, with some nice combination of smoke and sherry. Rather complex, with a touch of spices. The mouth is amazingly sweet, and the sherry dominates clearly the usual coastal character of a Clynelish. But it is nicely balanced, with notes of red wine, a great (too great?) sweetness, blackberry jam, with some very slight acid touches, but so discrete... The palate is not really complex. The finish is warm, slightly pungent, but misses nearly all the personallity which makes Clynelish a great whisky.

A nice nose whit sea hints, salt and iodine hiding fruity notes (apple) The first impression in the palate is acidity (citrus) which seems to go on for a while and discrete fruity notes are appearing, together with a light smoke impression. Alcohol is rather present, without hindering however. The finish is warm and relatively long.

Personal Comment
All the magic from the official version seems to have disapeared is this Gordon & MacPhail version. The basics are still present, with some interesting spicy hints, but the finish is much shorter and this makes this a more ordinary whisky. A kind of disapointment, probably due to the expectations created by the official version.
79/100
During the second tasting, a kind of complexity with smoke and spice hints gave me an excellent impression. A kind of after-taste, may be due to addiction of caramel -traditional in Gordon & MacPhail versions- temper the enthousiasm.
84/100
During the third tasting, the malt seemed to have lost all its spicy hints, and even if it remains a pleasant whisky, the general impression is less than during the second tasting. A lack of complexite, and a too short finish bring the quote back to 17.
79/100
It seems thta this whisky needs a certain time to express all its qualities.... Aeration? Oxidation?.. During the fourth tasting, the nose was fruity (pear) and slightly malty at the time, complex, allying fruit notes to maritime ones, salt and iodine, the whole being perfectly balanced. After a while, liquorice hint and spicy and smoly toutches appear, giving a new dimension to this already rather complex nose. The palate is complex too, with malted touches, a kind of bitterness, wallnut and woody notes and a finish marked by a mix of wood and chocolate. A very nice bottle.
84/100
The first nose is discrete with some Marshmallow aspects, and after a while some fresh hits of cut grass and mint are emerging. A delicate nose, and interesting too, even if it could be some clearer. The palate seems to be cast in the same mould, rather discrete and fresh. A smooth mix of slightly acid notes and sweeter ones, without however great emotions for the papilla's The finis is long and pleasant, with first a discrete of the Marshmallow hints followed by a development on more coloured notes. Rereading my previous notes written a few months earlier, the conclusion seems to be that this whisky is quite instable... It seems to change a lot with the time.

Surprisingly whisky. Far from the official 14 years old bottling, this whiskt is remarkable by its very long and pleasant finish, while the first impression in the palate did not make expect such a pleasure. The taste is slightly acid, reminding citrus fruits, but is rather complex and pleasant after a few seconds. The nose did not announce such a pleasant finish.
79/100
The nose is rather discrete and offers some remote hints of smoke and reveals a kind of acidity on a malt background. The palate is rather sweet and marked by the wood and a nut taste. The finish is very pleasant, long and complex, with touches of dry fruits (nuts), malt and citrus fruits.
79/100
The rather discrete nose offers a nice mix of farm smells (animal notes, young leather and wet earth with hay). A hint of smoke on the background and some fruity touches as well. In the palate, a smooth mix of citrus fruit and walnut, a kind of sweet-sour character, mix of bitterness and sweetness. Unripe walnut with honey. A nice lingering finish, where the honey remains, near the memory of this nice woody bitterness combined to slightly acid citrus fruit hints.
84/100
Quite a "farmy" nose, with notes of wet hay, malt and yeast at first nosing. Then some fruity notes emanate together with grass hints and a discrete touch of mint. In the palate, a very pleasant impression build from a mix of malt and dry fruits, nicely balanced and very smooth. The finish is warm and mainly marked by hints of malted barley.

Colour: Sparkling yellow.
Body Full, concentrated and generous with a Marshmallow soft texture.
Nose Opens with a beautiful twist of sea air and peat smoke followed by toasted almonds and soft green fruits. Rich, sweet, oaky bourbon notes are also very evident, with a soft shimmer of mint and green apple, but it's the magic of coastal maturation with the brine and treacle toffee sweet smokiness that sets this spirit apart.
Palate The peat and mature oak really take control and there is a real blast of heat on the palate. Given time the fruity flavours will emerge, but boy, they have to fight all the way. It's dry and sweet at the same time. A rare and exciting malt from a little known distillery which deserves greater recognition.
Finish The aftertaste is assertive. Rich and nutty, ending on sweet mellow oak.

Personal Comment
The nose reveals some discrete marine hints, mixed with some sweet and perfumed notes. This malt is very complex in the palate, and develops fragrances going from sweet honey to spicy and mentholated notes, and even some smoky hints. A rather long finish makes this liquid delicacy a very good bottle.
88/100
The nose is rather discrete and reveals some sea flavours, but also some slight hints of smoke and fruits (apple), spices (pepper) and menthol. In the mouth, a nice complexity, allying the sweetness of honey and cereals (like morning muesli) with clearly acid notes (green apple) covered by smoky and peaty notes. A very nice lingering finish, with some woody hints.
88/100
A spicy nose with peppery hints. Behind the spices, fruit and malt. Green apple. Light veil of smoke. The mouth is first rather discrete before developing on slightly bitter motes, marked by a discrete presence of yeast and nutty aromas. Very pleasant palate with lots of contrasts and a nice tastes palette. The finish is relatively long with discrete fruity hints and a slight impression of alcohol

COLOUR : yellow with greenish glints.
NOSE : refined. Reveals the sweetness of malted barley, citurs fruit (lemon) and spices (pepper). Grass (heather) and evolution on ripe fruits.
PALATE : smooth. Returns on the cereal sweetness. Developes subtle anise and fruity notes (apple, quince)
FINISH : clean, precise. Denotes nice vegetal framework and fine sea hints on a liquorice background.
(la Maison du Whisky)
Personal Comment

The nose is fresh and complex, mixing (dominant) lemon with malt and pepper. The taste is slightly acid, green apple and less complex than the nose was. The finish is very pleasant, going from lemon to malt, with on the background some hints of violet.
84/100
The nose reveals strange smells of meat juice (or leather) mixed with discrete hints of tnagerine and with nice spicy notes on the background. The mouth is a bit less interesting than the nose was but reveals however very nice hints marked by cereal, leather and ripe apple. A very nice finish too, lingering and pleasant with some remote hints of liquorice.
84/100
The nose is both rather fresh and "farmy" with clear fruity hints. Grass and hay, salt and peat, leather. Some wood on the background. Nice complexity and a great promise of pleasure. A nice balance between gentian bitterness, woody hints and woody hints together with a light citrus influence characterize the mouth. The mouth is less spectacular then the nose was. The finish is long and bitter while remaining pleasantly marked by some malty hints.

A very pleasant nose marked by spices (pepper), remaining amazingly fresh, with nice citrus touches and a soupçon of smoke behind all those impressions. A very nice presence anyway. In the mouth, farm notes, just like "drinking some hay". A refined woody bitterness, allied to malty hints on a background of light smoke give the whole a nice complexity, even if a broader taste palate could be expected. The finish is quite long, without any exageration however, marked by a light bitterness and an undeniable presence of alcohol, prolonging pleasantly the mouth sensations.
84/100
A nice floral nose with nice peppery and spicy notes. A touch of mint or cut grass gives it a fresh turn.
Freshness is also the first feeling in the palate, quickly followed by an explosion of fragrances, the one more pleasant than the other. Ripe fruit, a light bitterness a touch of eucalyptus.
The finish is fresh and lingering, and a mentholated and fruity (unripe fruit) prolongs the pleasure for long minutes.
88/100
Quite a fresh nose, mixing fruity notes (banana, green apple) to cut grass flavours. A slight tingling probably due to alcohol percentage is detected without being annoying.
In the palate, the fruity side dominates first and is rapidly followed by some light chocolate notes, and here too alcohol is quite present. A little bit more annoying in the palate than it was at the first nosing. Things get OK after adding a drop of water.
Lingering and pleasant finish, still hesitating between fruit smoothness and this fresh acidity which was detected at the nose and in the mouth.

A superb fruity nose, very fresh with some medicinal touches. Green apple, exotic fruit, mint, some hints of wet hay. A touch of sea air. Quite a promising nose. The mouth is very fresh as well. Green apple, citrus fruits and touches of gentian. Rather complex, the mouth is a bit less spectacular than the nose was. But the nose is really exceptional. The finish is quite long and slightly woody, with chocolate notes and really prolongs the palate's pleasure.

Pleasant fresh and relatively complex nose. Green fruits, cut grass, mint, resin.
The nose is pleasantly marked by a nice contrast between the fruity acid notes and touches of cashew nuts. Contrast but also balance between bitterness and acidity. This makes an excellent impression.
The finish is lingering and warm, and the bitter notes seem to dominate. This pleasant balance which was so interesting in the palate is still present.

An extremely pleasant nose marked by grilled barley, biscuit with some undergrowth hints and some farmy notes discretely hidden behind this firework of biscuit smoothness.
The palate is very complex as well. Beside the notes already evoked at the nosing, some very nice fruity hints appear, developing on milk chocolate through a whole palette of very pleasant impressions.
The finish is lingering and warm and some dry fruit impressions prolong the happiness for long minutes.

Very nice nose balanced between gingerbread and pepper on the one hand and a very pleasant fruity side on the other hand. Very impressing anyway, and also very refined without being too complex and announcing an excellent whisky, uncompromising and pleasantly smooth.
The first mouth is slightly spicy and then develops on very pleasant cereal notes with discrete hints of cashew nut.
The finish is lingering, first clearly marked by alcohol (amazing, as nor the nose nor the mouth noticed this) but developing soon on malty and chocolate notes, taking the first nose impression up again.

The first nose reveals farm smells quite pleasant. Unfortunately hints of yeast In addition there. Otherwise, the nose has a nice complexity with this mixture of damp hay with the slight bitterness from the walnuts and toast.
The palate is nice to start with these notes of cocoa and malt. No trace of yeast, contrary to what was feared at the nose. We would have liked it something less monotonous.
The finish is a continuation of the mouth. These notes of cocoa are well represented and even seem to increase. It is quite long and hot.

A very nice fruity nose with notes of wax and a touch of smoke. This complex nose announces a nice whisky.
In the palate a strange feeling of constantly developing fruits, between acid one and very ripe one, wit some farmy notes and pleasant malty cereal touches.
The finish is rather short and seems so be quite flat. However a kind of smooth malty impression remains.

This whisky deserves certainly a second tasting. The first impression makes that I do not really like it. Compared to notes of other reviews, this could seem strange....

A clear fruity nose with very nice pleasantly fresh notes. Pear and apricot but also some nutty couches and a hint of very ripe plum.
The mouth is very complex, mixing coffee notes to very acid green apple ones. Quite an original composition, extremely pleasant, after the first surprise. This whisky develops constantly in the mouth going from the apple acidity to interesting chocolate notes and back.
The finish is quite long, and is still influenced by the fruity freshness which already was present at the first nose.

The nose is immediately pretty fruity, combining green apple and ripe banana, with a hint of varnish over the whole. This is a fresh and very engaging nose anyway.
In the mouth iwe have immediately a great bitterness that amplifies with time. Nuts, cashews and oddly no trace of the freshness of the nose. That makes two whiskies for the price of one. Here again the impression is excellent, although the contrast with the nose is important.
The finish is quite long and is much closer to the mouth than the nose.

The nose reveals clear but smooth hints of ripe fruit (between pear and plum) with touches of citrus fruit (orange). In the palate, a strange impression betzeen bitter and fruity, a remarkably complex taste. The whole remais smooth, witn no aggressivenes at all. A touch of smoke on the background. A lingering and pleasant finish developing on the fruits.

The nose is marked by spices and citrus fruit. Very complex, it also detects nice floral notes, a touch of wax and of pepper. In the palate, a mix of citrus fruits and pepper, a very nice presence, however less complex than the nose was, but excellent. No farm notes like Clynelish uses to have. The finish is rather fresh and not too long. Some acid notes at the end.

The nose presents first some nice fruity notes besides hints of cut grass, and after a while, some clear gentian whiffs appear, behind a light veil of smoke. Anyway, a very fresh nose. No aggressiveness neither. This announces quite an interesting whisky. In the palate, a nice acidity, rich in nuances, perfectly in the mood of the nose, with however some unwanted tinglings. The finish is smooth and lingering, nicely perfumed, fruit hints and some discrete nutty notes.

Quite a nice floral and relatively fresh nose, with nice notes of hey and vanilla. Very pleasant anyway.
In the mouth, the same freshness sensation, mixed with unripe fruit notes (green apple?) and touches of honey which smother the whole. Nice complexity. A very beautiful Clynelish anyway.
The finish is lingering and and the same notes, both honeyed and slightly acid unripe fruit notes mixing pleasantly during long minutes.

A floral nose with some fruity touches. Spices enhance the pleasure of this generally very pleasant nose.
The first mouth is slightly acid, with plum notes, but with a too obviously presence of alcohol. Even if it is rather complex, it is far from the best Clynelishes...
The finish is of medium length and prolongs perfectly the mouth.

The nose is marked by floral scents of heather with a slight bitterness (gentian). This bitterness fades quickly to reveal hints of honey.
The palate is very complex. After an initial attack on the fruit and a stealthy return of bitterness, a mix of sensations in the mouth. The fruit, however, remain slightly behind compared to the first impression.
The finish is long and pleasantly fresh. All the sensations of the mouth remain there for long moments.

Smells of candy and floral notes characterize the nose first. It is rather discrete and little complex.
Equally an impression in the mouth: suck a sour candy. Followed by some slightly bitter notes. A slight shift towards malty hints and sour candy in return.
The finish is of the same ilk as the mouth.

Colour: White wine.
Nose: nose first on a note of peat and smoke very ephemeral, but very clear before switching to the red fruit and sweet that rather quickly turns into citrus. White sugar. A slight tartness just enough acid to wake up the nose. Biscuit, slight hint of toast. Vegetal also on freshly cut grass, mint leaf, chervil, rosemary, chives, these sauces cheese or yogurt.
The nose disappears as soon as the first drops of water.
Taste: Quite strange actually, but not unpleasant at all, quite the opposite, and interesting. If we find peat and smoke, there is no trace of fruit, the freshness of the white sauce with herbs. By cons, we gain an amazing woody note which grows and grows all the way from the mouth, but it never slips on woody bitterness and remains pleasant all the time.
The mouth is very quickly overdiluted by adding water.
Final: Extends the unexpected always on the same woody beautiful way, being enriched with a nice smoke.
A few drops of water make this final virtually disappear, leaving only a very small woody feeling.

Comment: The nose, mouth and final are all as pleasant, but in different ways, which makes it a very interesting whisky and gives it a unique personality. Do not like water.

Nose: very citrusy, on lemon, lemongrass, with a bitter component (kumquat, blood orange). Candied citron. Comes a woody side with a touch of smoke, with a little iodine. In background, some malty notes, cereals, sweet spices, vanilla.
Mouth: very sweet, on citrus. Arise cereals & salt. Then, barrel impressions : woody, smoky, vanilla & spice.
Final: old wood, leather, dried fruit sweet
Conclusion: A very fresh nose, but a fairly common mouth. Citrus fruits evoke for me a dram of the Lowlands. A good whisky.

The nose is peaty and marine. Marin and peaty, rather I should say, so iodine and salt are present. Distant citrus, white fruit appear here and there. Aeration, initially gives the whisky a dry and alcoholic character, but simultaneously gives us little glimpses of the pineapple, mint, pear well highlighted by the peat that emerges. A heady fragrance comes next with dessert apple, lilac and other fruits reinforcing. On the palate the attack is frank, almost aggressive. It begins with a tannic bitterness, woody and continues to the sea and a dominant peat. The final evolves in first on the spices and then returns to the sweet and savory, mussels marinara. Good length.
A whisky that requires a very long aeration. I have great difficulties to score this whisky : nose is very interesting, mouth and the final one notch below. For the nose ...

Final long enough, pretty intense fruity notes.

Nose: The nose is light, floral, fresh. There is also a bit green (artichoke) and develops pharmaceutical grades (fennel) and green almond.
Mouth: The mouth has an aromatic attack and texture slightly oily with herbal notes. The sting of the alcohol comes in the finish that ends with the bitter dandelion.
Final: Final develops notes of almond with always this bitter now more than focused on gentian (Suze) before ending up on the sweetness of the almond.

Nose: Seems very young. Strong, almost aggressive, on grappa, brandy, pear and lemon. This mineral is at the second tasting, less aggressive also, oxidation has rounded corners even if the profile remains the same.
Palate: The attack is intense, powerful mouth, even offering a sensation of effervescence on the tongue. The whole is pleasantly tart, lemony, sharp. Complexity? forget it, but it's nice.
Final: Rather short, with notes of Granny Smith apples and a floral aspect evoking pelargonium (geranium scented).

Conclusion: A simple malt, unfussy, young (or seemingly young), but pleasant.

Nose: fish and metal. Lacks some expressiveness. Opens on the barbecue but fleetingly!
Mouth more on fruit than the nose (peach and pear in syrup). Pleasant. Nice oily texture.
Final moderately progressive although something happens ... , but difficult to identify!
Conclusion: pleasant surprise although the mouth differs from the nose. Deserves that one is interested. A nice and unpretentious daily dram .

The nose is dominated by the new make, some peat, lavender and herbs. Expressive enough at first, it also releases scents of apple, pear and a little salt. With aeration, the cigar leaf appears, at the expense of damaging power loss.
The mouth begins on coffee, before peat and cold ashes take over. Rather austere and very powerful, this also implies mouth aromas of milk chocolate and hazelnuts. Aeration reveals minerality.
The final medium length is on peat and vegetal flavors. It vanishes quickly.
Finally, an acceptable whisky, which is restricted by lack of power and cohesion.

Nose: There is some fat, banana, preserved orange and pink grapefruit. We also find some chestnut. A nose that puts its citrus fruit well ahead without embarking us  completely.
Taste: Citrus not really defined but present are combined with malted barley and hazelnut. All this lacks of expressiveness among ethanol and a slightly intrusive peppery presence. Adding water is not necessary.
Finale: The length is there, on citrus - grapefruit found - and some spices that occur at the last moment, especially with pepper.

Comment: A whisky that plays all along the citrus map. Too bad the mouth is set back, particularly in its balance and precision. The final saves it a bit, but it's a bit late.

The nose is very discreet. and notes of ripe fruit intermingled with hints of yeast and a few discreet signs indicating a likely youth ... notes of pear brandy. Relatively simple, the nose is pleasant but no more.
The first attack is much more acidic than anticipated in the nose. The few ripe fruit of the nose turned into green apple, acid. Hardly more complex than the nose, the mouth that seamlessly integrates alcohol is fresh and slightly marked by some metallic notes.
The finish is long and very fresh. This whisky is good, but not truly indispensable.

Colour: White wine.

Nose: Young and full of freshness. Freshly picked up orchard fruits. Apples and pears. Flawless, but nothing different so far from the flow of releases from the same category. Then, evolves on something really creamy. Becomes as soft as a white chocolate bar. Interesting. Let’s wait a little more. Now we have all kind of roots arising. Gentian for the light bitterness (do you know Suze?) and liquorice to bring a little roundness. Soft and lemony flavor of crumpled bee-balm. Something quite “bladnochean” as to say… And a low ABV (43%?) that does the job.

Mouth: Starts on the same fruity freshness and delicate vanilla. A bit all-purpose, but rather enjoyable. The low ABV is still fully exploited. Fresh melon and nice honeyed notes, but bitterness and astringency grow.

Finish: Long, sustained by the bitterness and the astringency of a grapefruit skin.

Comment: A rather young country-style malt. Not unpleasant, but I don’t feel very comfortable with the final bitterness.

Nose: Quite sulfur, with aeration it fades but still keeps these notes of matches.
It still manages to leave these distillation notes aside , we have then ripe banana mainly, some spices, pepper and floral notes.
In the background is a metallic note, reminiscent of some old OBE blend.
Mouth: no more sulfur here, nice fruity, fresh and dried fruits, dates and figs.
Honey is present, some spices, a slight smoked led by the barrel and a little wax.

C : Copper Gold
N : The first nose is soft and fruity (dry fruit). There are also some sherry, nutty, and praliné notes. With time some precise notes of citrus appear (orange, orange peel, almost marmelade like). Some coastal notes appear too. The bitterness from the orange peel, the walnut and the cacao harmonise with juicy oranges, candied oranges. It is also slightly floral (heather) and the malt is a touch smoky, with just what you need of sulfur.
A drop of water will develop in particular the orange that become very juicy, the honey, the bee wax, leather and a touch of smoke.
B : The palate is smooth, with subtles hints of sherry. A touch of salt blends in with sweet fruit (citrus still). The leather notes come through too, with some kind of burnt notes (charcoal, toast, ash).
More on dried raisins, citrus (bitter oranges), leather, liqorice with a drop of water.
F : On honey, with a touch of smoke, and gentle spice with woody notes (sherry) are long and constant.

Jelly beans. Very subtle and complex it is, as far as jelly beans can be.
Mouth: Jolly good! More expressive than the nose. Creamy and tasty. Same aromas than on the nose. Pineapple drops. And a slight sooty note.

The nose is pleasantly marked by discreet notes of heather and nuts, bitterness mixed with a floral side. It is relatively complex and enjoyable.
The first mouth is discreet and quickly became distinctly acid, and gives the impression of an crescendo that ends on alcoholic metallic notes. Quite a contrast with the nose. After a few moments, when the acid is blurred, returns on calmer nutty notes.
The finish is relatively short and hot. Here we find the peace, tranquility that were a bit lacking in the mouth. A pleasant hazel nut notes floats above.

The first nose is woody and marine, then presents a discrete peat as tar, complemented by spices (nutmeg, cloves), the smoked cigarette. Peat increases. After a good ventilation, a nice fruity, ripe fruit gives a sweet and very pleasant sweetness. On the palate, the attack is spiced to perfection. Mild and pleasant tannic bitterness is offset by grass, thyme and other herbs, a sugary sweetness. The final articulates with the mouth on herbs (thyme, oregano). An average length. A very distant peat emerges here and there.

Nose, lacking presence, is dominated by a small fino oriented sherry. It is a bit effervescent and spicy. There are also some fruits hardly qualifiable, coffee and custard. With aeration, some nuts (almonds) appear. But all is too quiet.

The mouth is in the continuation of the nose, with marked sherry influence. There is milk chocolate and hazelnuts. Initially discreet, it doesn’t last in mouth.

The final, still influenced by sherry is on dark chocolate and heady flowers. We also find chocolate liquor.

In conclusion, a medium whisky sherry typed.

Taste: There is malt (slightly vanilla) and citrus but they are in the middle of spices (black pepper on the back entrance of the mouth in particular). The texture is quite nice but it is not very balanced.
Finale: bitterness is present with a return of peppery note. A final punchy a when it goes on spices, very quiet for the rest.

Finish: Medium length and slightly astringent.

The first tasting session was completely confusing, leaving me with a strange feeling many flaws to the point of not taking too many notes and dropping. The second sale was held three days later.

Light amber color.
The nose is a little closed based on the caramel. Then there are hints of calvados. All leaves me the impression to be in the process of taste a fruit brandy. is that the influence of the sherry has taken too much from the whiskey.
The palate is round with well integrated alcohol. I note of red fruit (strawberry). The second part is tannic-dryer, almost astringent.
The finish is bitter. Sherry Is there too now. retro-olfaction is of red fruits and liquorice.

Nose: A main note of burnt (wood and tire ...) softens gradually without necessarily give way to much more, so one side or vinegared not necessarily more attractive. Frustrating because ultimately does not tell much to me and not engaging.
Mouth: We find the notes grilled / burnt from the nose. Silky but does not pass the pill of the grilled note that I do not like. There are things going on behind it (including exotic notes), but you get them and it remains tenuous .....
Final: fortunately not very long and the frail exotic mentioned above.
Conclusion: I do not like this type of whisky. I do not like his nose and he does not tell much more by the way ... or it must be sought with the electron microscope!

Commentaire de Jbrice
Nose: The nose is sulfur (scraped matches), metallic. There's also some hints of fruit and pastries; smoke.
Palate: The palate has a surprising attack. Quite complex. Syrupy. I feel pretty red fruits. Surely not diluted.
Finish: Long on the fruit and wood

Comments: A surprising and confusing whisky. Would have matured in refill Sherry cask? In any case, I have struggled to understand at first, but there is a certain complexity that I like.

Color: light yellow
Nose: fruity, exotic leather notes, dried fruit. Malted side also clear. Quite "suave".
Mouth on pineapple and peaches; sugar, liquorice, marzipan. The attack is a bit spicy, but after it calms down.
Finish: rather long; mainly on wood and licorice. Really an extension of the mouth.

It's round, it's good, it's pretty simple. There is also a feeling of dryness that happens in the final; a little dry.
Dominant profile: licorice, fishing, drought.

Commentaire de Krucifyx
Nose: The nose, after first alcohol tingling - this is rather present - a basket of fruit: banana, grapes, with an acidity that sometimes draws on exotic notes (pineapple) and oranges with background notes of cooked fines.

Mouth: The wood (spices, bourbon) marks the entrance. The fruits are slightly masked by alcohol, perfectible on integration, soap notes banana.

The final, in turn, allows to think further dilution, it could have been great dram on fruity (pineapple, melon, mango), with lovely notes of menthol at the end of finals.

Commentaire de Wsteimel
Color: Light yellow.
Nose: Lemongrass, honey, butter with water some caramel.
Taste: Cask strength?...I added quite a bit of water....started to get some oak, lemon, honey, butter, cough medicine....more water...
Finish: Hot on the finish....again more water....some medicine, black pepper....finish is long and not bad.  Better than the first taste.

Overall, thought it was pleasant with enough water. Light crisp whisky with some citrus and honey.  A bit young?

appearance: Riesling
nose: low to medium intensity, moderately well integrated alcohol, sour fruit (green apple, currants), meaty, slightly malty, cereal dust
taste: low to medium intensity, well integrated alcohol, fresher and less acidic than the nose, add ginger and other oriental spices
finish: short to medium

Nose: Very smooth with light tones of fruitiness and vanilla. After a while more spiciness and influences of wood.
Taste: Immediately some sweetness followed by some spiciness and some bitterness as well.
Finish: Long, spicy and some bitterness again.

Commentaire de Samhain
Colour: White wine

Nose: ok - what is in the nose? Not much  - to be honest I could only detect some barley and malty aromas.

Palate: Much better - I find some sawdust, sweet and peppery notes with apricots and some green apples.

The finish is not too long with a light sweetness. It is a round malt but to be honest not so impressive.

Commentaire de Jmputz
Color: Light gold
The nose is strongly marked by aromas of plum jam mixed with fruity notes and some hints of yeast.
The palate is quite fruity despite a strong presence of alcohol and the notes detected at the nose are always present, but more acidic than announced.
The finish is medium length.

Commentaire de Mathieutaz13
Nose: Alcohol and spice nose first and then we have some timid citrus.
A little butter and mineral but fairly grassy which gives it a certain freshness
It seems to me somewhat elderly (15 years?) and not very complex (aeration brings nothing more)
Palate: Powerful and woody, lot of citrus with a touch of mango for the fruity side / pepper quickly relayed by the bitterness of almond milk.
Final still the bitterness associated with some fresh tobacco

conclusion
May be a whisky from a refill sherry that lacks depth and especially originality to integrate my bar!

Commentaire de Jeep
Nose: Closed. Mineral, I do not know why but it reminds me of Boursin (cheese)! Opens on vegetal notes: mountain plants. Not my thing.
Palate: More pep. It starts out by relatively pleasant melted fruity, supported by a delicate woody frame then it evolves into naphthalene !! Very strange! Very present pepper + some floral flavors.
Finish: Very long, fresh, after eight, soap / detergent, peppermint
Conclusion: Not what I like or research. This is particularly with odd note in the nose and mouth. The finish is nice and leaves an impression of freshness

Nose: bitter note, strange herbs, old style
Mouth: bitterness, intensive wood maturation, too long in the cask?

Commentaire de Jean-Michel
Colour: Straw.
Nose: Quite discreet at first nosing. Alcohol whiffs emerge (51% ?). Slightly fruity, quite grassy, and probably hot. Smells like some kind of stone alcohol. A good shake brings out some vanilla and a hint of white orchard fruits. No obvious flaws, but nothing really thrilling nor too original so far.
Mouth: The bite of the alcohol is more obvious now. Burns like a 60% unbalanced malt. This one will anaesthetize your buds unless you add a splash of water. Gets much more friendly then, but not really sexier. “Simple” wood extracts, with quite some vanilla and liquorice. Biting and dry.
Finish: Harsh and drying, with a long grassy bitterness.
Comment: Clean but uninspired and quite unbalanced malt. Auchroisk ?

Commentaire de Corbuso
Colour: Pale gold
Nose: Smoky, dry, peaty, floral, slightly aromatic, rather clean and meaty, with some tarry notes and on vanilla.
Taste: Dry to very dry, bitter, clean to very clean, young and spirit. Let’s quickly add some water. Diluted, it remains spirity, burning your taste buds, with some sweet influence of a young whisky associated with a rather harsh and oaky mouth feel.
Impression: A fierce, young, rather harsh and spirity whisky. Too young or immature to my liking.

Consuming alcoholic drinks during pregnancy, even in small quantities, can seriously affect the health of the child.
