De retour apres une courte escapade, je reponds enfin a ta question. Tu remarques l'evolution a la difference entre les notes.
-Dailuaine 27: [...] Colour is more bronze than golden. The nose has a hint of charcoal, which is never too pleasant if too pronounced. Pat finds red fruit, specifically raspberry in the mouth. The whole thing is rather dry. Everyone likes it [...]
-Dailuaine 27 (brought by myself, though I do not sample it): nose: Speculoos (adc, sonicvince), baby lotion -- Nivea, Mustela (SauronTNT, who knows a thing or two about baby lotion). Mouth: carbonic (SauronTNT);
-Dailuaine Cask 809 (me): nose: cotton candy, Malabar (Fixou, who now compares it to a particular Banff). Bubblegum and plum it is. Mouth: some vanilla, milk, latte, even yoghurt and pepper. It reads odd, but it works. Finish: flower-stem juice and the associated bitterness, some grass, ending up with custard, earth and a touch of liquorice. White wine, perhaps -- A, our wine consultant (and his smart phone) confirms it is Arbois, a wine from Jura (in France, not the island).
En deux mots: vas-y! Ca n'est pas mon whisky prefere, ni meme mon Dailuaine prefere, mais c'est tres bon. Mes copains l'adorent.
