Ensemble avec PatGva j'organise une dégustation caritative le dimanche soir du Whiskyfair à Limburg.

The aim
The aim of the Tasting “Rarity for Charity” is to collect money for the following the purposes:
- NCL-Stiftung (see http://www.ncl-stiftung.de/main )
- Doctors without borders (see https://www.aerzte-ohne-grenzen.de/ )
- German Parkinson Association (see https://www.parkinson-vereinigung.de/start )

All the benefit is equally distributed to the three organizations.
Doctors without borders are wildly known, Parkinson association is also well known by maltheads since Michael Jackson had this disease. NCL (Neuronale Ceroid Lipofuszinose) is a rare disease of children dementia. Affected children gradually lose all mental and physical abilities. Rarely an NCL patient experiences his 30th birthday. The foundation aims to help research, affected children and their family.

The tasting
We have high aims for helping, so we have also high aims for the tasting.
We look forward to present a tasting set composed of eight old and rare whiskies. The price of the tasting is 250 €. If you like you can give more for the good purpose.

In order to get the most possible money we will serve drams of 1,5 cl each thus allowing 40 persons (maximum capacity of the room) to attend the tasting. None of the organizers will take a single euro for his work.

Professional catering (as a buffet) is provided by the Villa Konthor Team.
The tasting will start at 19 o'clock with the buffet. Official end is scheduled for about 23 o’clock.

A presentation of every bottle will be done Patrick de Schulthess (member of the Malt Maniacs since 2010) and some of his friends.

The tasting will include eight bottlings. All bottles are given for free by donators.
Five bottles are already known:
Cragganmore 1972, 15yo, 40%, G&M brown label
Ainslie’s King’s Legend, 43°, 75cl, spring cap
Macallan 1946, 56yo, 44.3%, cask 46/3M, OB
Tomatin 1966 – 2011, 45yo, 46.1%, sherry cask, The Nectar & TWA
Fine Old Vatted Highland Malt, Scotch Whisky No. 7, Glenlossie-Glenlivet, Army and Navy Stores, 70 proof, 26 2/3 Fl.Oz, cork cap, bottled 1950's or 1960's

Booking the tasting
You can register for the tasting by sending a mail to raritiesforcharity@gmail.com
Please mention your name, given name and address. You may also mention your nickname if you are active in a whisky community and the community (e.g. a whisky forum, a Facebook group, …)

If you like to register for several people, please mention name, given name and address for everybody.

You will receive a response mail with the bank account for sending the money.
Booking of the tasting is definitive when your money is shown on the bank account. Shortly afterwards you will receive your booking ticket that you have to show at the entrance of the tasting room.

Donation certificate
After the tasting a copy of the donation certificate from the three above mentioned organizations will be sent to you by mail as soon as we get them.

Le problème reste le même pour moi...
c'est dimanche soir et je n'ai pas prévu de rester une nuit de plus sur Limburg...
Dommage, vu les embouteillages de légendes et surtout les 2 organisateurs, ça m'aurait fait plaisir de pouvoir assister à cela !

Malheureusement impossible de faire le samedi soir. Aucun restaurateur ne te loue une salle car de toute manière tout est plein à craquer partout.

Après une longue attente pour le dernier payemenet (sans mauvaise volonté mais le sort s'est abbatu sur nous) je peux enfin procéder au virement de l'argent et cloturer l'action.
Un total de 6.684 € a été récolté pour les oeuvres caritatives, donc 2.228 € par oeuvre,
