Another whisky site

One more site about whisky, amongst so many others? Indeed, another whisky site with detailed information on more than 120 Scottish distilleries, with original pictures for most of them, descriptions of over 600 bottles with picture and tasting notes. One more site explaining the making process of whisky in details, one more site giving information about the history of this very special beverage, called whisky in Scotland and whiskey in US and Ireland...
One more site? or a unique site in its conception...
It is up to you to decide. But first of all, you'll need to have a look on it... or begin by reading what other people think about it by reading the guest book .

Tasting

All the whiskies on this site (more than 600) belong to my own collection. I'm striving to give all of them a rating (on 20), and some tasting notes (I'm not a professional, but...). A table with quality-price ratio based on my own tastings and acquisitions is available too. Those tasting notes are daily updated. There are also some tips on how do drink whisky available.

Your impressions

Your own experience is welcome. Therefore you can send me your own tasting notes (which will be reproduced on the site) or you can join us on the forum where you'll have the entire freedom to give your opinions, put your questions or answer the questions of other visitors about scotch single malt. The whisky forum accepts discussions in French at the moment. As soon as enough whisky lovers want an English speaking forum, it can be setup. For Dutch speaking whisky freaks, the forum on whisky-distilleries works together with a Belgian (Flemish) whisky forum, Cask Six. The same kind of whisky lovers are to be found on both forums..

Further: Making and history of whisky, art of drinking, market...

If all this is not enough, you can find information about the history of whisky, how whisky is made and a little glossary of terms used in the world of whisky. Further, information about independent bottlers and the best way to drink your single malt whisky can be found too.
You can use the two navigation bars (on the left and on the top) to go easily to the desired page.
All your suggestions are welcome. You can use the suggestion form, or send them by e-mail.

Slainthe Mhath

Please keep in mind whisky is an alcoholic breverage. Drinking whisky should be considered as a pleasure. And therefore, I'd recommand to drink whisky on a responsible way... Drink good whisky, but do not drink too much whisky...
