WDTS (Whisky-Distilleries Tasting sessions)
(Blind tastings)
Rum session 2

Français | English

Producers who have made this meeting possible are:

  • Wilson & Morgan who sent us 3 bottles
  • Malts of Scotland who sent us 1 bottle
  • Whisky & Rhum who sent us 2 bottles
  • Cognacs Ferrand who sent us 1 bottle

The "winners" of this session are:
numero 1 Barbados Cognac Ferrand Plantation Extra Old, 20 anniversary 87
numero 2 Martinique Wilson & Morgan 12 years, Anniversary Edition 87
Numero 3 Barbados Wilson & Morgan Rum Nation, 2001 85
Coup de coeur Barbados Cognac Ferrand Plantation Extra Old, 20 anniversary 87

Coup de coeurThis rating "favorite" is awarded based on purchase intentions in relation to price. This bottle had 11 points in the session. This makes it a best buy in terms of value for money.
Followed by Barbados, Martinique Rum Nation 2001, Anniversary edition, both of Wilson & Morgan, each with 8 points. Then comes Brazil Epris (Whisky & Rum) with 4 points and Guyana, Diamond (same bottler) with 3 points.

This session was the second to present rum to whisky lovers. The exercise is interesting in more ways than one, and the very large discrepancies in almost all bottles are a good illustration. This session also showed the difficulty of gathering whisky lovers around a blind tasting of rum.

Whisky is an alcoholic drink. Let's prefer quality to quantity as the abuse of alcohol beverages can damage the health. Consuming alcoholic drinks during pregnancy, even in small quantities, can seriously affect the health of the child. Consumption of alcohol impairs your ability to drive a car or operate machinery, and may cause health problems.
