WDTS (Whisky-Distilleries Tasting sessions)
(Blind tastings)
Session 6

Français | English

After a few very active weeks on the side of producers (from November until January seem to be the busiest of the year), we received a sufficient number of bottles to prepare a timetable for the next 3 or 4 sessions.
Producers who have made this meeting possible are:

  • Les Caves de la Halle, Avallon who sent us 2 bottles (Jean Boyer, The Well Whisky)
  • Master of Malt participating for the fifth time with 1 bottle
  • Wilson & Morgan who sent us 1 bottle
  • Malts of Scotland who sent us 2 bottles

The whiskies competing for this first session of 2012 do not play all in the same court. Bottles very moderate rate (about 30 euros) competed against old bottles whose price is around 200 euros. Despite this large difference in prices, cheap whiskies were also appreciated.
The "winners" of this session are:

numero 1 Glenlivet Wilson & Morgan Thirty six (1975-2012) 857
numero 2 Cragganmore Malts of Scotland 1999, Bourbon hogshead 87
Numero 3 Bunnahabhan Master of Malt 20 years old 86
Coup de coeur Cragganmore Malts of Scotland 1999, Bourbon hogshead

Coup de coeurthis dimension "favorite" is assigned according to purchase intentions compared to price. This bottle got 20 points during the session.
(folllowed by Glendullan, Puits à Whisky with 19 points, Bunnahabhain 10 years, Puits à whisky with 16 points and Bunnahabahin, Master of Malt with 8 points)

Whisky is an alcoholic drink. Let's prefer quality to quantity as the abuse of alcohol beverages can damage the health. Consuming alcoholic drinks during pregnancy, even in small quantities, can seriously affect the health of the child. Consumption of alcohol impairs your ability to drive a car or operate machinery, and may cause health problems.
