La cinquième session des WDTS s'est achevée le 24 décembre. Le temps qui s'est écoulé entre cette session et la précédente est dû à la difficulté de recevoir les bouteilles ces derniers temps...
Cette session, tout comme les précédentes a été passionnante. Je veux tout d'abord remercier les producteurs qui nous ont envoyé leurs whiskies. Un grand merci également aux 18 participants ayant renvoyé leurs notes à temps de dégustation.

Au niveau des particularités de cette session, notons quelques surprises. Les malts les plus chers ne sont pas nécessairement les meilleurs. Une grande surprise a été de voir l'Ardmore 100th anniversary terminer en queue de peloton alors qu'à l'inverse le House Malt de Wilson & Morgan qui est un whisky bon marché s'est très bien comporté. Il est vrai que les 6 whiskies en compétition terminent dans un mouchoir de poche.

This session, like the previous was exciting. I want to thank the producers who have sent their whiskies. A big thank you too to the 18 participants who returned their tasting notes in time.

In terms of features of this session there are some surprises. The most expensive malts are not necessarily the best. A big surprise was to see the 100th anniversary Ardmore complete back of the pack while conversely the Malt House of Wilson & Morgan which is a cheap whisky has done very well. It is true that the six whiskies competing end in a handkerchief.
