La quatrième session des WDTS s'est achevée le 31 août. Cette session était plus longue que d'habitude. Le délai attribué aux dégustateurs était exceptionnellement de deux mois, à cause de la période de vacances. Période où beaucoup de gens sont absents, et également période peu propice à la dégustation de whisky pour ceux qui ont la chance d'habiter le Sud de la France, où le soleil ne fait pas toujours bon ménage avec la dégustation...
Cette session, tout comme les précédentes a été passionnante. Je veux tout d'abord remercier les producteurs qui nous ont envoyé leurs whiskies. Un grand merci également aux 19 participants ayant renvoyé leurs notes de dégustation.

Au niveau des particularités de cette session, notons la présence de deux Single Grains (Cameronbridge et North British), ce qui a peu désarçonner plus d'un participant. Les sessions sont préparées en fonction de ce que les producteurs veulent bien m'envoyer...
Cette session se caractérise également par de très forts écarts sur certaines bouteilles. De véritables "Love it of Hate it"? Je ne sais pas... mais cela prouve que les goûts ne sont pas unanimes sur l'ensemble des whiskies présentés. Et c'est tant mieux. Inutile de dire que tout le monde fut cependant surpris par des écarts de 41 ou 45 points sur deux des bouteilles. Mais les cotes sont justifiées par les notes correspondantes. Cela rend les sessions encore plus passionantes.

The fourth session of WDTS ended Aug. 31. This session was longer than usual. The time allocated to the tasters was exceptionally two months, because of the holiday period. Period when many people are missing, and also time is not conducive to whisky tasting for those who are lucky enough to live in the South of France, where the sun does not always mix well with the tasting ...

This session is also characterized by very large differences on some bottles. Real "Love it of Hate it"? I do not know ... but it proves that the tastes are not unanimous on all the whiskies presented. And that's good. Needless to say, everyone was surprised, however, by differences of 41 or 45 points on two bottles. But the odds are justified by the corresponding notes. This makes the sessions even more exciting.
