Personal Comment
Color: Mahogany
The nose is discreet, or rather extremely subtle. Very slight spicy provide immense pleasure. Here's a extremely refined rum , revealing touches of cocoa and some fruity notes, still subtle.
If the remainder is of the same ilk, here is the fun bottle ...
On the palate, the first impression prolongs perfectly the nose. However, a little too sweet to be complex and spices are also very discreet here. Pleasant mouth, but set back from the nose.
The finish is exceptionally long. Spices come back. However, use this rum in small quantities to avoid nausea after a while due to the presence of sugar in the run.

Amber beautiful dress, very bright, orange highlights.

The nose is elegant, fine and delicious with notes of tropical fruits (coconut, ripe banana, candied fruit) and caramel. is finely woody & caramelized (soft caramel), with a nice hint of vanilla and toasted spices (almonds).

the attack is supple and delicate / creamy, fruity always that which grows on a caramel background and woody with a hint of smoke. quite rich and interesting palate, complex.

a final owl develops these exotic fruits, well-rounded and caramelized (see Bates) + sweet spices / leather / nuts (walnuts)

appearance:
red gold
nose:
medium intensity, well integrated alcohol, 3/4 sweet / 1/4 dry profile, cooked fruits, meaty, stable flavors, organically grown grass (so with lots of different herbs and plants), freshness (kind of spearmint chewing gum)
tatse:
medium intensity, well integrated alcohol, sweetness dominates without becoming cloying because countered by a touch of dryness, a real highly drinkable treat (sorry, I did not want to spoil my fun trying to analyse the flavors)
finish:
medium

Commentaire de Dagde
Nose: Immediately some pastry touches (pie nuts / honey, almonds, candied orange and butter) and lemon to balance the sweet indulgence of the first nose. It is very well made and uniform opening is not detrimental (coconut is even grafted on later). A very balanced and really tempting nose.

Taste: It's oily, powerful but aggressive alcoholic with coconut, honey and nuts. It was also orange. It is very fine and one almost regrets that it is not a bit more exuberant.

Final: Sweet but extends well on orange and walnuts. Lemon also appears at the end.

Comment: The balance is perfect for that sweet but not syrupy rum, pastry and so very surprising enough honeyed. A little indulgence just waiting to be served again. Regrettably a final slightly shortened. For lovers of dense and sweet rum.

Commentaire de Piazzolla
Nose: varnish, glue tape, almost too ripe banana. Fairly balanced. Very nice and changing to a certain complexity at aerartaion. Caramel. Coconut.
Mouth: beautiful silky texture, sweet but not too much. Especially on vanilla, banana, coconut. Indolent.
Final average over the banana flambe
Conclusion: a good rum, very balanced and pleasant, may be just a little less complex in the mouth to fully convince amateurs.

Nose: initially quite discreet and opens onto the caramel and sugar candy. It develops on the vanilla, coffee and mint to become oily and very greedy

mouth
The attack is intense, sweet caramel and the mint. It is complex with a beautiful texture. Vanilla is present and some fresh fruit. It's very nice. The finish is a little dry, but offset by the greedy and fat side.

Colour: Amber
Nose: fairly light at first glance, it is melted on autumnal fragrances of ripe fruit (cape gooseberry) with a quite surprising and interesting waxy, buttered side, it smells old, there is even a side a little overripe, rather greedy, pastry, marzipan. Alcohol is well integrated
Palate: Supple and fruity exotic, physalis detected at the nose along with exotic fruits, delicious and very nice, there are also the buttery notes, beautiful expression, but lacks a bit of power and length (which cost him a few points )

Commentaire de Jean-Marc
Nose: too monolithic, basic, a "bottom of barrel" side, coconut

Taste: coconut, sugar cane

Final: as the rest

The coconut and not much else, unfortunately.

Commentaire de Jean-Michel
Colour: Tawny.
Nose: By the nose, I can predict that it's another sticky and weak one that we have here. All on the usual soft spices (cinnamon galore), and some heavy and heady sweetish notes. Sweeter than a cup of hot chocolate with melting marshmallows (great stuff, but not for the aperitif or after lunch!). And heavy varnish.
Mouth: Indeed, this is cloying and lacks oomph. After a weak attack, some chemical flavoured tangerine juice jumps to the foreground along with some coffee liqueur (Kahlua). Tastes like some over-sugared Drambuie. Thick, cloying, and nearly sickening. Not what I’m expecting from something called "spirit", anyhow.
Finish: Nothing to add. Except that we have additional tannins now.
Comment: I can understand some people enjoy these kind of flavoured and sweetish beverage. In France, we would call that "liqueur pour dame". I bet you won't enjoy this if you're interested in spirit, which is supposed to wake up your taste buds, not to stick them under tons of flavoured syrup. Sorry, but a coke would be more enjoyable.

Let's go for No. 1 in one shot!

Very pale gold color, beautiful legs for a very heavy rum which seems oily and seems to be about 10 years old.

The nose is bursting with sunny and tropical fruits (pineapple, banana), spices (cloves, pepper) is very greedy with seductive notes of fresh almond, rancid. But also with character: a very nice smoky oak that gives light to all. Rest brings out smoke and spices

The attack is soft, creamy, fresh. spices, vanilla and always with the smoky note. the share of citrus fruit. always tip fresh (mint)

A rather long and final warming in the background smoked (toast) seen previously, slightly peppery and vanilla.

A very nice and complete rum recalling Barbados rum .

Colour: Gold

Nose: Intense on herbaceous and vegetal notes. Very fresh, with a hint of vanilla and mint. Spiced including ginger, white pepper and cloves, which brings a medicinal side. Unique.

Palate: Sweet, sweet spices on the nose and quite pointed. Notes of asphalt, tar, molasses. Develops on the lemon (sour and bitter), exotic fruits (pineapple, grapefruit) mature. Becomes iodized coastal, with scents of fishing port (mazoute. .. on Black Rock ...)

Finale: Smoky, iodized on leather and bitter lemon.

Color: Light gold
An original nose, combining amazing notes of mustard and spices, a little rubber. The whole gives a fairly freshand relatively complex nose . After some time, aeration reveals some subtle hints of cigar box. But it is the spices that clearly dominate.
The taste is sweet at first and then it slowly evolving towards enjoyable slightly spicy notes. We still have the same spicy freshness than on the nose, although it is much less exuberant. After a few moments notes of menthol are added.
The finish is fresh and spicy as were the mouth and nose.
A nice and original rum.

Nose: Very nice nose and without heaviness. Ripe banana, toffee, spices (pepper, ginger). A hint of smoke and hydrocarbons. A little acidity balances the sweetness.

Palate: The attack is dry and alcohol is present but more fruity than the nose does augured. Dried apricot, dried fruit and caramel, lots of spices, grilled meat. On the palate the acidity balances the sugar.

Finish: Long and sweet, the ripe banana and grilled meat.

Comment: a beautifully balanced and demonstrative rum.

To the eye, this sample is not at all syrupy and is very clear. An amber rum, quite young in my opinion.

The first scent, I recognizes a hint of vanilla. Thereafter, you can feel herbs and even a hint of dried fruit.

The palate is aggressive but very brief. It is short and leaves absolutely no aftertaste. You recognize slightly the vanilla note from the nose.

Colour: gold.
Nose: softly sweet, with fruity notes of banana and pineapple, and whiffs of cinnamon and cloves. Then it gets more sugary, with notes of raisins, but also a hint of mint and just a little cigar box.
Taste: good attack, with the same fruity notes and a little oak. In mid-palate it's slightly drying, but soon the fruitiness is back, now more on peach and pear. Good balance, with well integrated alcohol and good length.

“Not my kind of rum. Lots of wood and spices with just a small bit of molasses”
This dram has a gold-like color.

Nose (79): (5)more than average. citrus, spices, floral, vanilla, tobacco. It doesn't taste like a rum.

Taste (80): powerful, oily. citrus, sweet, spices, tobacco, pepper, molasses.

Finish (78): (4)average. citrus, spices.

Commentaire de Jean-Michel
Colour: Pale gold.
Nose: Typical stuff, with lots of banana cream. Smells quite natural, with a rather obvious sugar cane fragrance. Something strangely dirty after a while. Briny. Hot butter with a pinch of salt.
Mouth: Once again, the spirit is rather banana-driven. Pretty simple and one-dimensional, but nicely balanced by the alcohol, some light tannins showing up after a while.
Finish: The "dirty" side of the spirit strikes back at the end, like a poorly dewatered rug, if you see what I mean. Too bad.
Comment: Pretty uncomplicated spirit, with a pleasant banana and sugar cane start, and a darker briny-dirty side.

“Great rum! I think it is a Zacapa, but if it is not I really have found something new and fantastic that I want!”
This dram has a tawny-like color.

Nose (88): (5)more than average. sugar cane, vanilla, toffee, spices, cinnamon. Quite nice. Aye, sir, quite nice nose.

Taste (90): powerful, oily. sugar cane, toffee, caramel, vanilla, cinnamon. Zacapa? If it is not, I have found a new rum to love...

Finish (89): (5)longer than average. sugar cane, caramel, vanilla.

Commentaire de Durhum
The color is a beautiful coppery one with golden highlights, the liquid develops long legs on the sides of the glass.

The nose is delicate and complex: it develops a sweet smell of vanilla on the surface, oaky wood, and a bouquet of spices is considerably above, we can recognize the nuts, nutmeg, cinnamon and that a good portion of licorice. Everything smells of leather, tobacco.

The attack is soft and mellow, dried tobacco (note wooded), licorice. Vanilla appeared and spices (a hint of pepper on the end) take care to leave a warm touch in the mouth. Orange is also present in the mouth, such as the nose. a small chocolate side also pretty cool

The finish is moderately long, dry and warming but without burning the throat once more spices and dried fruits are the party. A pleasant taste is in the mouth, with the smoked something

after having drunk a mount gay (xo) later it looks like enough, but sweeter

Nose: first very flattering nose, vanilla, spicy, cinnamon, orange peel, ginger, caramelized sugar, sometimes exudes some common notes some grain whiskys.

Taste: vanilla, caramel custard, treacle, banana, apple (notes good calvados), malt, clove, floral, nutty, spicy, sweet, sweet

Final: soft, leaving an aftertaste of apple (calvados), a little short.

Eminently drinkable, well balanced and lightweight while, perhaps too much.

A delicately spicy nose announces a pleasantly light discreet rum.
On the palate, this is actually the softness that takes over. Not a sweetness, but a smooth mixture of bitterness (nuts, spices) and vanilla, very pleasant.
The finish is nice, but a little short.

Nose: interesting with a nice woody side (old waxed furniture) some notes of spice, a little nuts (almonds) and candied fruit
Palate: sweet and soft attack on the cane syrup, then the wood brings its structure and spices, its bitter notes of orange (peel) and nuts (walnuts, almonds), slight oil notes blend well with overall, the alcohol is well integrated, the finish is long and bitter with woody notes, a bit dry at the end.

Nose: nice mix of varnish, glue and ripe banana. Superb balance. Elegant. Just a little too reserved to totally seduce me.
Beautiful silky mouth, sweet attack. Lacks a bit of aromatic density (combo wave of vanilla sugar and bananas).
Fairly short final
Conclusion: A balanced rum, without blemish, but lacking personality in my opinion.

Commentaire de Dagde
Nose: Quite greedy with discrete candied orange covered with cocoa. There are also fresh notes (chlorophyll) and a fresh lemon that will gradually open.

Taste: Lemon is followed by a very sweet orange-chocolate blockade. The texture is slightly oily (almost aqueous). The mouth also has some spices (cinnamon mainly).

Final: This falls very quickly on tangy notes and remaining bittersweet chocolate.

Comment: A simple light rum that combines citrus and gourmand gently. It clearly lacks soul though there is no real false notes.

Commentaire de Jean-Michel
Colour: Deep copper.
Nose: Very little alcohol in this one, but far from being unpleasant. Actually, as close as you can get from an old suitable single grain: tinned pineapple, ripe banana, orange juice (well… processed orange juice, not freshly squeezed), and this typical hint of nail polish remover. And a dash of cocoa butter. Make it a Sherry matured Port Dundas.
Mouth: Slightly weak and sugary for my taste, but we’ll do with it. Now, I’m more disturbed by the strangely artificial notes (tangerine sweet?). Doesn’t taste very natural if you ask me, and nothing that makes me climb the walls.
Finish: Short and weak, like an over-diluted caramel topping.
Comment: The nose was nice, but the mouth was quite disappointing. A low end beverage that hardly deserves to be named rum.
