Independent bottlers

Sons of a Dutch tobacco broker, Han and Ben Van Wees purchased a licence for a wine and spirit business in 1963. They stopped any activity in relation with tobacco in 1974. In 1963, the brothers van Wees bought the freight of a sunken ship in the port of Rotterdam.
The freight consisted in cars and furnitures, but also in a container full of whisky intended to South America. The quality of this whisky was much higher than the blends which were usually sold on the dutch market. The Van Wees house was the first to import prestigious names like Glen Grant, Macallan and Springbank.
In 1994, an agreement was signed with Andrew Symington, manager of Signatory, for import of the whiskies from this renowned bottler. The idea raised soon in the brains of Han and his son Maurice to market their own bottlings. The series "The Ultimate Single Malt Scotch Whisky Selection' was born.
The casks of the collection are selected by Han and Maurice van Wees. The selection counts whiskies from about 15 distilleries, all over Scotland. All the bottlings are single casks, not chill filtered, and without any colorings adding. The maturation and the bottling happen in Scotland, even if the society is settled in Netherlands.
The prices are rather competitive.
