Créée en 1993 pour faire des anis de qualité, Jean BOYER est une société artisanale qui compte six personnes.
Les dirigeants de Jean BOYER ont une expérience de plus de 25 ans dans le domaine du whisky, et spécialement du whisky de malt, ayant été dès 1975 parmi les premiers importateurs de Single Malts en France, et ayant grandement participé à le faire connaître.
Ils ont en effet été les fondateurs puis les dirigeants jusqu’en 2000 de la société AUXIL notoirement connue pour avoir été, en particulier, dès le début des années 80, la première à diffuser Lagavulin et Springbank auprès des cavistes et des établissements gastronomiques de France.
Aujourd’hui Jean BOYER met à profit son savoir faire de liquoriste en mettant en bouteilles avec un soin artisanal des fûts de Single Malts importés d’Ecosse. Elle essaie de proposer au public connaisseur des eaux de vies d’une qualité recherchée traitées avec le plus grand soin.. Elle utilise dans ce but les pratiques séculaires de Cognac afin de leur garder soyeux et longueur en bouche.
La gamme Best Casks of Scotland regroupe certains de ces whiskies, qui ne sont ni filtrés au froid ni colorés. Elle comprend nombre de malts qui ont mûri dans des fûts exceptionnels ; « Sherry Casks », « First Fill Sherry Casks », et petits barils de chêne américains ; « Small Barrels ». D’autres sortent de « Re-coopered Hogsheads », fûts retaillés et rafraîchis de bois neuf avant d’être remplis.
