DOUGLAS
McGIBBON was formed in 1950 by Fred Douglas Laing, Father of the
current 2 Joint Managing Directors, Fred and Stewart Laing. His
Father, in turn, had been employed within the Scotch Whisky industry
and with a thorough knowledge, background and love of the Golden
Nectar, Mr Laing felt the time was right to invest in his own knowledge
and experience. His earlier marriage to Morag, daughter of Douglas
McGibbon, was also appropriate, insofar as her grandfather had
been Stillman at one of the finest of the Islay distilleries. It
was after this fine old gentleman (“Auld Douglas”)
that the Company and consequent blends and Malt Whiskies was named,
and it is his signature which now authenticates and appears on
the packaging.

Whisky is an alcoholic drink. Let's prefer quality to quantity as the abuse
of alcohol beverages can damage the health.
Consuming alcoholic drinks during pregnancy, even in small quantities, can seriously affect the health of the child.
Consumption of alcohol impairs your ability to drive a car or operate machinery, and may cause health problems.
