Independent bottlers

The "Adelphi Distillery company" has been founded in 1993 by Jamie Walker, an independent bottler and whisky specialist who is the great-grandson of the last owner of the Loch Katrine Adelphi distillery which was settled in Glasgow.
This distillery was one of the largest in the Lowlands, and has been bought by DCL in 1902. The collapse of the wasbacks in 1906 was a major disaster, and the distillery closed for good in 1906. This disaster raised the question of the great danger building distilleries near the center of great towns.

In 1993 the great-grandson of the previous distillery owner resurrected the company name as an independent bottler. The company again changed hands in 2002 but has remained true to its beliefs of only bottling the very best single casks available. The whisky author, Charles MacLean has always been Adelphi's chief selector.

All the Adelphi whiskies are bottled at natural strength, without colouring, unchill-filtered and are all single cask bottlings They are branded either as Adelphi Distillery or Adelphi Selection (when they are allowed to name the distillery) or Adelphi's Breath (when they are not).
In addition they also bottled a 50 year old "nameless" whisky in 2003 which is called "The Whisky That Cannot Be Named" and produce a blend called "Private Stock blend"
